So today — for the first time ever - I made Finn homemade cat food all on my own!
I’m not sure if Finn will eat it or will like it - but it’s an incredible feeling of accomplishment that I followed through on all the steps to make his food from home & change his diet to something more natural and healthy for him.
I never thought I’d reach a place in my life where I’d feel confident enough to be able to do this - making cat food - or anything natural and on your own is very intimidating- esp when you’re dealing with animals - bc they’re very different from humans in what they eat and require and we love our animals so much - we don’t wanna make mistakes or potentially screw up - but anyway —
Now, I have the confidence and faith in myself that I can make my cats food myself and provide him with healthy meals and it isn’t impossible or super hard - just takes perseverance and sticking to what you’re doing and not just throwing in the towel if you make a mistake or mess up -

^ The Food processor / chopper I used. ($22 - let me know if you want the amazon link).
A run down of the process making Finn’s food today for the VERY 1st TIME!
Ingredients I used for this meal:
Chicken breasts in water (2 cans of 2oz)
1 Broccoli stalk (I steamed it myself)
Chopped a full cantaloupe/ added Half a cup of chopped cantaloupe to bowl
Half an eighth teaspoon of coconut oil
3 teaspoons of Pumpkin puree (I believe pumpkin is helpful to the gut - don’t quote me tho - don’t have my notes)
Add chicken broth to your preference / flavor
Put everything in the food processor and turned it on - chopping it up till the food became a puree and very soft consistency.
Leftovers - I stored in the freezer for later. (Including cantelope, leftover pumpkin puree, etc.
Cats (or just my cat), tend to like a variety of food / meal choices - they get bored of the same meal over and over — so I’m going to look for another recipe this weekend that I can make for him — so I’m able to provide different food / meal / flavors —
But today is just day 1!
TBH: I’m even stunned and proud of myself for taking this initiative, grabbing it by the balls- not allowing myself to be intimidated by what I don’t know — and completing a task that (for me) seemed almost impossible to learn… it’s an awesome feeling to see and know that you’ve accomplished something you never thought you would — and totally on your own.
It’s just a really great feeling and achievement I want to pat myself on the back for - never would I thought I’d make it to a place where I could make my own natural cat food and help my animal - idk - just feels good - within my soul and just overall…a nice feeling.
It also shows I’m stepping up as my own individual and taking responsibility for myself - my animals, but also -- not relying on any authority or anyone else to provide for me - things I can learn to provide for myself.
