I found this dictionary at my local library last week & bought it. It’s been in my freezer though for a few days bc I learned that will help clean and kill off any dust mites or bugs on the used book.
But my local library has a section where they sell used books really cheap. Hardcovers are only $1 and soft or paperback are $0.50. So that’s baller for me.
I love when I go in and find bangers — like this slang dictionary I got for literally $1.00. I need to go back more often but sometimes I end up buying every book I want there lol
— I HAVE NO SHELF CONTROL!!! 📚
But — go check out these pics I attached here of some of the words in this slang dictionary— like “CAT LICK” = CATHOLIC… (really)?? Never heard that before… and it even says that it has a “derogatory” meaning or tone to this “saying…”
—SEE BELOW:
Also — look at the word “SLEEP” — isn’t it kinda odd that “Sleep” is defined as a year long prison sentence…
Oh well I guess if this is slang - maybe that’s how the people who speak slang say it.
Inmate: “how long they sentence you in jail for?”
Slang talker: “They gave me a sleep yo” — meaning - 1 year… right? Lol or am i misunderstanding?? 🤔
I may come back and update this later after going through more of the dictionary.
You got any words you want me to check out & see if it’s in this “slang dictionary,” — just lemme know! 🙃 💯
But I am excited to look and read through it more. 📖
Positivity to you all!
